Using derived dispersion relations, dielectric filters with embedded metamaterials are analyzed with the mode matching technique, and the results are applied to a Ka band SIW filter. This same filter is then compared to an identical filter in the absence of metamaterials to illustrate the effect on performance. © 2014 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
