In this study, a compact circularly‐polarized (CP) enhanced bandwidth instrument, scientific, and measurement (ISM) band (2.4–2.485 GHz) antenna with enhanced bandwidth is proposed for wireless body area network applications. To miniaturize the size and widen the CP bandwidth, two y‐shaped strips connected to ground and a partially meandered strip feed line were used. The manufactured antenna has a 10 dB return loss bandwidth of 46% (2170–3290 MHz) and a 3 dB axial‐ratio bandwidth of 29% (2110–2820 MHz). The maximum gain of the antenna is 4.87 dBic. © 2013 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Microwave Opt Technol Lett 55:1738–1741, 2013
