This article presents an investigation about dielectric resonator antennas. The configuration of antenna is reported using an new structure cylindrical in the shape of disc dielectric, which has its molar representation given by Zn0,8Pb0,2TiO3 (ZPT) stacked vertically about a ground plane and excited by a coaxial probe. The process of construction and characterization of the dielectric resonator are presented. The numerical procedure is performed through of the HFSS commercial software based in the finite‐element method. An excellent agreement between theoretical and experimental results is observed. © 2013 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
