In this article, we experimentally demonstrated the transmission of 9.952‐Gb/s On/Off Keying (OOK) signal over 40‐km single‐mode fiber (SMF‐28) and 2‐m air link for 92‐GHz RoF system which is near 0.1 THz.We investigate the BER and eye diagram based on different transmission distance and pattern length. The results show that good performance is obtained. The error floor at 20 km and 40 km is 1×10 −6 and 1×10 −7 respectively when pattern length is 2 31 ‐1. However, there is no error floor up to 1×10 −10 if pattern length is 2 7 ‐1. © 2013 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
