We have designed and fabricated a terahertz multiband resonator based on TU‐shaped metallic microstructure on polyimide substrate. The performance of the fabricated device was examined by using a terahertz time‐domain spectroscopy system. The experimental results show three distinct resonant peaks at 0.37, 0.73 and 0.96 THz, which are in good agreement with the finite‐difference time‐domain (FDTD) simulation. The multiband resonators have great potential applications in the fields such as terahertz imaging and biosensors. © 2012 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
