This article presents the design of a microstrip‐line fed printed antenna with a circular‐shaped fractal slot. It is experimentally verified that such a design results in bandwidth (better than −10 dB return‐loss) enhancement of up to 52.8%. The results of parametric study for different iteration factors (IF) and iteration orders (IO) are also presented. For the proposed design, better than 4 dB gain was practically achieved over a frequency band of 2–6 GHz. © 2012 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
