This article presents a new compact, sharp‐rejection, wideband microstrip band‐pass filter. The novel wideband band‐pass filter is based on the circle ring resonator using two tuning stubs to construct a wideband passband with two sharp stop‐bands. Without coupling gaps between feed lines and rings, there are no mismatches and radiation losses between them and the novel filter shows low insertion loss. Using circle ring resonator with two tuning stubs, the proposed band‐pass filter has two sharp stop‐bands. The proposed band‐pass filter has compact size and simple structure. The proposed band‐pass filter is fabricated and measured. The measured results prove to be largely consistent with the simulated results. © 2012 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
