A self‐complementary antenna for ultra‐wideband (UWB) is proposed.The proposed antenna has a compact size of 25 × 15 mm and covers the specification for UWB operation in the 3.1–10.6‐GHz bands. It has been proven that the proposed compact antenna can generate UWB and reasonable radiating properties. Details of the proposed antenna design and experimental results are presented and discussed. © 2012 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
