We present a method to adjust enhanced X‐band microwave transmission and beaming through controlling the distance between grooves on the front and back surface of asymmetric gratings.Extraordinary transmission and beaming effect was influenced at X‐band microwave frequencies (8–12 GHz). It demonstrates a new way to achieve directional selectivity in microwave frequencies. © 2012 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
