The visualization of the modal electric field for an infinite parabolic multimode fiber may not be immediately intuitive due to the intricate nature of the Laguerre function. To capture the essence of the various properties of the transverse modal electric field of the infinite parabolic multimode fiber, various simulations are drawn on and key observations are made. © 2012 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
