Abstract The simultaneous distribution of nine double sideband orthogonal frequency division multiplexing ultra‐wideband signals along fiber lengths indicated for long‐reach passive optical networks is demonstrated experimentally. This is an efficient solution and an alternative to single sideband and chirped modulator approaches proposed to mitigate the dispersion‐induced power fading. © 2012 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
