This article presents realization of two‐ and four‐channel‐incoherent multiple input multiple output systems operating over 4.4 km of 50‐μm core silica multimode fiber. The system featured 1/2QPSK modulation, 10 Mbit/s per channel, sampling of the received signals, and off‐line postprocessing. The quality of the received signals was acceptable only for 2 × 2 system, whereas for 4 × 4 system some channels experienced temporary fading. © 2012 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
