A lightweight and single layer frequency selective surface (FSS) with fractal elements are demonstrated to exhibit significantly improved resonant frequency stability characteristics with varying incident angles and polarizations. It is superior to the other FSS elements in the future applications of multiband space communication and advanced radar antenna systems. © 2012 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
