Intensity modulated transmissive fiber optical displacement sensor is introduced and its performance is investigated. In the experiments, the relative error is 4% and the linearity is higher than 99.2% with source light intensity stable. The relative error is 0.2% with the source light intensity changed at a certainly frequency. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
