An essential aspect when considering radiating array elements for simulation is to add the effect of the surrounding array cells in the analysis of the studied radiating element. The aim of this article is to present a complete mixed potentials integral equation solver including mutual coupling between elements in an array structure. The theoretical approach is presented along with some particular issues, in terms of programming and performance. Some canonical structures are analyzed in order to validate the developed electromagnetic tool and compared with commercial software. This electromagnetic tool has been built up for the analysis of antenna array structures and transmitarray lenses. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
