Abstract A novel triple‐mode square loop microstrip filter with capacitive open stubs and source‐load coupling is proposed.The filter has three controllable transmission zeros near its passband, and exhibits sharp skirt property. The bandpass filter is fabricated and measured. Both simulated and measured results are in agreement. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
