This article presents an impedance matching method suitable for various radio frequency identification (RFID) slot tag antennas.By loading a matching slot onto a radiating slot, the impedance of the proposed slot tag antenna can be easily tuned to match the various impedance values of chips by simply changing the length of the matching slot. Two examples of the slot tag antennas are studied. Results show that the designed tags exhibit offer good reading range performances and are excellent candidates for RFID applications. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
