In this letter, the capacitance of a conductor‐backed coplanar waveguide (CPW) with an upper shielding is investigated. An electrostatic boundary‐value problem of the conductor‐backed CPW with an upper shielding is solved using the Fourier transform, mode matching technique, and superposition. The capacitance of the conductor‐backed CPW is represented in a series and calculated in terms of the CPW geometry. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
