The effect of a frequency‐selective surface (FSS) on enhancing the isolation between a donor and a coverage antenna for indoor WCDMA repeater antenna systems is presented.A unit cell of the proposed FSS consists of a half‐wavelength resonator, an FR4 substrate, and a ground plane. Embedding it on the wall of each reflector for a donor and service antenna, the measured isolation enhancement is about 10 dB. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
