A novel planar inverted‐F antenna (PIFA) for WLAN and WiMAX applications is presented. The proposed antenna with small size of 24 × 3 mm 2 , consists of rectangular radiating patch with T‐shaped notch and a notched ground plane with rectangular slot which provides a usable fractional bandwidth of 4.95–5.91 GHz. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
