A novel high efficiency sector antenna build of four radiating patches, a shaped ground plane and a reflector plate is presented. Based on the proposed structure, a prototype antenna for WiMAX applications, achieving a half‐power beamwidth of 120°, was designed, fabricated, and measured. Simulation results and measured data are presented. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Microwave Opt Technol Lett 53:286–288, 2011; View this article online at wileyonlinelibrary.com.
