This article presents design considerations of a filter integrated Wilkinson power divider (FIPD), which helps to reduce the circuit size. The λ /4 impedance transformers of the conventional Wilkinson power divider are replaced by filters with an insertion phase of 90° at the center frequency. The concept is validated by two prototypes centered at 2.4 GHz. The measured 3‐dB bandwidths for both prototypes are 60% while for the conventional design is 200%. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
