In this article, a semicircular band‐notch monopole antenna based on CSRR with band‐notch function is presented. A rectangular slit is cut at the top center of the ground to obtain desired operation frequency bandwidth, and a complementary split‐ring resonator is embedded in feed line to realize band‐notch function. Experiment results show that the proposed antenna has a sharp stop‐band of 4.89 GHz–6.12 GHz and one ultra‐wideband from 2 GHz to 12 GHz. During operated frequency band, the proposed antenna exhibits excellent radiation characteristics. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
