This article introduces an improved performance stubless low‐pass filter by using lumped capacitors as shunt capacitances elements. The filter has a cut off frequency of 4 GHz and a wide stopband up to more than 13 GHz with a rejection better than 26 dB. The measured insertion loss of the filter within the passband is less than 0.3 dB. The filter has a length of just 6.5 mm. The experimental results agree well with the predicted ones. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
