In this letter, we have presented a new design methodology for microstrip stepped impedance filter. An artificial neural network has been used to learn the nonlinear relationship between the design specifications and physical dimensions of the required filter. The performance of filter designed with this technique has been successfully validated. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
