An ultra‐narrow band band‐pass filter with Square open loop resonator (SOLR) is reported in this article. The designed OLR cell demonstrates compact size, broad band‐stop and good slow‐wave effect. An ultra‐narrow band band‐pass filter, incorporated with three SOLR cells, is simulated and measured to show low‐insertion loss and high‐selectivity. Good agreements between simulation and experiment are achieved. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
