By analyzing the transmission function of a voltage‐controlled electro‐optic transparent ceramic material, OptoCeramic® PMN‐PT based variable gain tilt filter (VGTF), its temperature‐dependent properties are obtained and a temperature‐dependent calculation model is established with the temperature‐dependent coefficients obtained by the combination of experimental and numerical methods. Then through the real‐time temperature surveillance, the control voltages can be dynamically adjusted via a USB interface and the VGTF achieves precise control and remains stable within temperature range from 25°C to 70°C. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
