A broadband linearization method with a novel opto‐electrical predistorter was experimentally demonstrated. With the proposed method, the third‐order intermodulation distortion was simultaneously enhanced by more than 10 dB for 510 MHz ranges and by 24 dB at 2.2 GHz without any change in electrical circuitry. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
