A compact dual‐mode H‐shaped filter with source/load coupling for harmonic suppression is proposed in this article. The compact dual‐mode H‐shaped itself has a finite‐frequency transmission zero associated with the even mode. In addition, another transmission zero can be created by introducing source/load coupling. The simulated and measured results show that the harmonic suppression of the filter can be improved by using coupled lines with loads to some extent. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
