This contribution shows different receiver concepts for the sampling of ultra‐wideband radar echoes. The core of all receiver architectures is the sequential sampling offering the possibility of manufacturing low‐cost hardware. Several sample circuits are proposed, compared, and verified experimentally. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
