For the microwave photonic filters constructed with two cascaded Hi‐Bi fibers, we demonstrate theoretically and experimentally a new technique that uses a dual‐ or tri‐wavelength spacing‐tunable laser source to greatly suppress the sensitivity of the filter response to environmental perturbations without the introduction of the phase‐induced intensity noise. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
