In this article, a novel wideband slot antenna is proposed. The slot is quarter‐wavelength long and loaded with a capacitor to increase its bandwidth. The effect of the capacitor on the antenna radiation efficiency is also investigated. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
