This article presents the design of a compact fully integrated UWB reflectometer that employs a multilayer microstrip‐slot technique. The device is formed by a complex measuring ratio unit that includes three couplers and one power divider, and two additional couplers. The design is accomplished using transient solver of CST Microwave Studio. The integrated reflectometer is manufactured and experimentally tested in the 3–11 GHz band. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
