A compact monopole antenna for dual ISM band operation is demonstrated experimentally and numerically. An efficient method for dual band operation of an antenna is presented. Experimental results indicate that the achieved VSWR 2:1 bandwidths were 330 MHz (2.33 to 2.66 GHz) and 420 MHz (5.55 to 5.97 GHz), respectively. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
