This article presents a compact printed monopole antenna for 3G and UWB mobile and wireless communication systems. The antenna consists on printed microstrip arms on a Rogers' substrate with a slotted partial ground plane. The size of the antenna is only 16 mm × 36 mm × 0.83 mm. The simulated and measured results show very good agreement. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
