An equilateral‐triangular microstrip antenna with reconfigurable polarization capability is proposed. The proposed design is achieved by loading with three L‐type slits in the triangular patch and three PIN diodes are utilized to switch the slits on or off. According to the states of the diodes, the reconfigurable antenna can produce linear polarization or right hand circular polarization. An antenna prototype is implemented and measured. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Microwave Opt Technol Lett 51: 1372–1374, 2009; Published online in Wiley InterScience (www.interscience.wiley.com).
