A novel multimode bandpass filter with good rejection band is proposed by using a radial stub. The radial stub cannot only perturb the traditional resonator for the multimode operation but also generate additional zero point at the stopband for the stopband control. With proper input/output coupling, additional two poles, that is, four poles, can be achieved for the proposed filter structure. The experimental results of the four‐mode filter show low insertion loss, good stopband performance, and compact size. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
