In this article, the analysis of a symmetrically notch loaded stacked circular disk patch antenna is carried out. It is found that the bandwidth of notch loaded disk antenna depends directly on the notch dimensions. Bandwidth of the notch loaded patch is found to be 27.89%. Stacking of the patch with parasitic element further improves the bandwidth to 43.56%. Theoretical results are compared with simulated results using IE3D, which are in close agreement. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
