We have developed a new wideband digital feedback predistortion technique for wideband signals by combining digital feedback predistortion linearization and memory‐effect compensation techniques, and investigated linearization performance for 802.16e mobile WiMAX 2FA signal. For this purpose, a 2.655‐GHz class‐AB amplifier with 170‐W peak envelope power is fabricated. The proposed technique is compared with the digital feedback predistortion. We have experimentally demonstrated that the new wideband digital feedback predistortion technique is suitable to linearize amplifiers for mobile WiMAX multicarrier application. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
