Abstract Broadband internal antenna by combination of a loop type antenna and a shorted monopole is proposed for GSM/GPS/DCS/PCS/UMTS/WiBro/WLAN applications. The proposed antenna shows wide impedance bandwidths as well as good radiation patterns and high antenna gains, despite very small volume. And wide impedance bandwidth can be achieved without increasing the implementation complexity compared with that of existing antennas. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
