In spite of the fact of its potential relevance for future advanced metamaterial design, split rings resonators high‐order resonances data are very limited in the literature. This article presents these co‐ and cross‐polarization high‐order resonances by means of numerical electromagnetic simulation and measurements in both monomode waveguides and free space propagation. A good agreement between simulation and experiments has been observed. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
