Even‐ and odd‐order harmonic suppression modulations are demonstrated. The configuration is based on a Sagnac loop interferometer containing a 3 dB coupler, an electro‐absorption modulator (EAM), and a polarization controller. Measured results demonstrate even‐ and odd‐order optical sideband suppressions for both reflected and transmitted signals. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
