A novel optical fiber Fabry‐Perot filter (FFPF) based on two microlenses is proposed and demonstrated. The microlens is produced by forming a droplet with UV‐curing adhesive on the mirror of the filter. An FFPF with a finesse of 65 was obtained in the experiment. The advantages of the high‐finesse FFPF are the low cost and ease of construction. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
