A planar tapered‐slot‐fed antenna is proposed in this article. The antenna is printed on a dielectric substrate. Measured and simulated results are used to demonstrate the performance of the antenna. It can be seen that this type of antenna is suitable for ultra‐wideband (UWB) applications. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
