As an alternative to the corrugated horn, a low‐cost smooth‐walled spline‐profile horn has been designed to cover the complete Ka‐band satellite bands. This new horn is used as a feed in a typical dual‐reflector antenna to demonstrate the overall antenna system meets the usual performance requirements. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
