Broadband operation of a dual‐frequency rectangular slot antenna is achieved by embedding a pair of narrow slots in a rectangular patch inside a loop antenna with a CPW feed. With the proposed antenna design, the impedance bandwidths of 9.4% at the lower frequency band and 3.0% at the upper band are obtained. Details of the antenna design and experimental result are presented and discussed. © Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
