This article presents the design, measurement, and test of a MMIC for the front‐end section of a composite multielement radiating system. The MMIC is composed of a 3‐BIT modified constant phase digital attenuator, a switch, and a pair of amplifiers for TX/RX operation. A uniform linear array can be realized attaching 15 MMICs to the T/R radiating elements. The so obtained array's co‐polarisation pattern is presented. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
