In this study, a new approach is introduced to reconstruct the location and shape of arbitrary homogeneous scatterers (conductors and lossy or lossless dielectrics) with arbitrary contrast. First, the induction current is reconstructed for radiation of each transmitter. Then, the amplitude of all reconstructed induction currents are summed with each other as a suitable function to estimate the location and shape of the scatterers. The performance of the introduced procedure is verified using some examples. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
