A kind of velocity compensated coplanar wave guide (CPW) bend is proposed, in which one slot of CPW bend with shorter length is corrugated, so that the signal propagating in this slot is slowed down, and the signal propagating in the longer slot can catch up with the signal in the shorter slot. Both simulated and experimental results show that the odd mode can be suppressed efficiently by this kind of CPW bend, and the properties of reflection and transmission are improved significantly, especially in high‐frequency band. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
