On the basis of the double resonant property of the complementary split‐ring resonators (CSRRs), a novel dual‐band microstrip filter is designed, making use of CSRRs as resonant unit and T‐shaped stub as feeding structure. More than one transmission zeros are formed due to the cross coupling between the CSRR cells and the T‐shaped feeding lines, which have greatly improved the out‐of‐band property. To validate the proposed method, a dual‐band filter with two passbands of 2.4–2.6 GHz and 3.8–4.3 GHz is fabricated and measured, which has a low insertion loss and a high out‐of‐band rejection. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
